Yes, we're the same company. We made the 3D-ROM to demonstrate to 3D artists on all platforms the power of our 3D file format translators. That's why we give it away to anyone advanced enough to make a model, copy it to a disk, and mail it to us. 🙂 It's good advertising! I'd encourage you to send more than one model, and send something you're proud of. We don't have any requirements beyond that. If we had rules, there would be exceptions, and we'd spend more time working around the exceptions. We don't guarantee that your model will be used on the next edition of the 3D-ROM. If we do use it, then you get a free copy of the disc. If you send a default cube, we won't put it on the next disc. Simple, no? Several employees at Syndesis are the jury. At some point, I look over the models, too, but I'm not the ranking member of the jury. In this way, the 3D-ROM helps people see exactly what other people are creating in the 3D universe. We have contributions from artists who use many different programs on many different platforms: 3DS, LightWave, Imagine, Ray Dream, Strata, etc.
