HeyNow Amiga Programmers! I hope there are still a few of you out there 🙂 {g}… I have a question concerning the Datatypes library. Is there anybody out there who can answer some questions concerning this wonderful libraries application and usage. I sure hope so. I have an idea about integrating the datatype library into the SBase4 system. I have already written some code which uses it and have hit a snag. It seems to work fine with IFF and GIF images. I want to know if the datatypes library can scale the images to fit a certain rectangle. I can't seem to find anything concerning this. If not, could I get the bitmap stored in a bitmap structure and scale it myself? I'm also a little confused concerning palette mapping, I read somewhere about getting the image palette from a GetDTAttrs() tag, but I can't seem to find where I read it. The only Docs I have on it are the AutoDocs and the Devcon notes from Orlando last year. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I can now display AmigaGuide scripts from the datatypes library. Everything seemed to be going 'peachy' then it struck me, when I wanted to make a HYPERJUMP by hitting a hilighted word it would clear the screen and seem to sit there. Well, I figured that the jump was made but the datatype wasn't being redrawn correctly. I verified that the IDCMP_IDCMPUPDATE message was recieved and that the DTA_Sync tag data was recieved. For some reason the RefreshDTObjects() was not working as expected. I added a RESIZE gadget and upon recieving the IDCMP_NEWSIZE message called RefreshDTObjects() again. Now when I resized it redrew, and lo and behold it was positioned at the AmigaGuide node where it was supposed to be. Something fishy is going on here :{} Somebode please, I'm really psyched to make use of the fabulous features of this library. It seems almost too good to be true. If anyone knows where David Junod is now, please tell him I would love to speak with him. Thank you, >> Mike Uman >> Oxxi Tech Support
