Doug, Borland and MicroSoft probably do have more people writing example code than SAS has development people. However, viewed from a different angle, look at MetroWerks. They produce one hell of a package for the Mac (12 compilers, a great IDE with a usable editor, very good debugger, etc) for $399 — on CD with 2 CD updates included in the price (if you don't want the PowerPC compilers (C, C++, and Pascal) then the price is $99). MetroWerks have stated they've sold 9000 packages. I find it hard to believe that SAS didn't sell at least that many units into the Amiga community. The MetroWerks product (CodeWarrior) is very nice and, given the limitations of the Mac, makes the SAS/C product look like a poor cousin. Since you're out of the Amiga market it's all sour grapes now … but it was a shame that Manx went away … they tended to drive SAS development.
