I am not going to even try to speak with any authority with respect to SAS since I don't work for them and never have but I do live quite close to SAS and know quite a few people that work for SAS. As I am sure that you know Greg, SAS is a major data processing system on Mainframes, SuperMini's and Minicomputers. The SAS-C compiler came about because of the necessity to have a 'standard' compiler that would run on multiple platforms. SAS is a very 'heavy duty' programming house. Their work nearly always finds bugs in operating systems and support software. While personally I am impressed at how well SAS handled the Amiga Compiler I am also a bit surprised since that sort of a product is drastically different and the market is also different from the type of product/market for their other products. I definately do not know anything about the specifics of their decision to drop further work on the Amiga and can only surmise but I believe that the perceived benefit to the compiler in general must have decreased. -bill
