Ian: >>1. Can the PAR be used for simple video editing? Yes, but it is limited to joining segments, deleting frames, copying frames including Ping-Pong, and other basic editing commands. You will need a software product like Razor Pro or Premiere to provide cool transitions and more involved overlay effects. >>2. If the above is true, can this be done with Adobe Premiere? Yes, but I have not heard of confirmation that Premiere can address the PAR drive and work with its native .ani format files. >>3. What does Razor Pro do that can't be done with Premiere? Razor Pro currently works well with the PAR and is allegedly a much faster tool than others which do not access the PAR drive directly. >>4. Is Razor Pro a lot more expensive than Premiere? I think Premiere is a coupla hundred bucks cheaper. >>5. Is Razor Pro a stable product now? I don't own it but the forum seems to suggest that it is not yet completely stable. Don't know if this is any different from Premiere, however. >>6. Can sound be captured/edited/played out using the PAR & Premiere? Currently you can't store sound files on the PAR disk but you may see this change soon. Supposedly ou can sync your animations and sound files with the Windows media player but I haven't been able to get this to work for me. >>7. Does the PAR use Motion JPEG files (MJPEG)? I guess so but the files aren't compatible with any other device that I know of. There is a new SCSI version of the PAR due out shortly. I don't know what improvements it will sport but it could be worth the wait. Bob
