Not related to 3D Studio, but have you looked at the freeware program Fractint?
It can generate some great dual-color stereo fractal images. The book Fractal
Creations comes with the software, a CD with zillions of fractal images, and
red/blue 3D glasses. This may be of interest to you for your report.
