>>>Jerry>>> (a) Thanks for these Poco lessons. A couple of thoughts from ANI3-C. Your description of & – the "address of" prefix was good. Next time, I'd pair it with the explanation of * – the "assume it's an address" prefix. You say that's what it means, but the explanation doesn't point out the symbol. Hello Charles. Glad you like them. Please, send thoughts anytime. Good point on the * symbol. (b) I found it nice to set the Circle line to: Circle(mx,my,count*2); // that way I could see "space" between the circles. I didn't like the filled circles. I went back out of Poco and turned off Fill (about #3, before you showed how to do it in the program!) It's good that you're experimenting with these programs. That's the whole idea, to see what other effects you can create with simple modifications to these prototypes. (c) I found it irritating that the Qtext button came up over the place were the circle was being drawn (until I moved my mouse away and found that a click anywhere would do, I didn't have to hit the continue button in the message box.) Yes. There are a few quirks about the interface of POCO like these get irritate me too, but as I may have mentioned earlier, I have yet to find a "paint"/animation package with such open-endedness. It's a small price to pay for the ability to customize the program. (d) Before exercise #5 there is typo – SetColor(curcol+count); should be SetColor(currcol+count). No doubt you've been told that about 20 times. That makes 21. 🙂 <<<Jerry<<<
