I would suspect the problem would be the connection at the back of the
modem where the little low-voltage cable goes into the socket on the modem.
This can be a little loose fitting at times. What you can do to help this
is carefully pry the split on the center post apart a little to make the
fit a bit tighter.
If the 'power off' is NOT related to this connetion, then I would suggest
that you call PPI tech support and request an RMA number so you can send
the modem in for repair. The number is 818-991-8200.
