We are currently using 3DS R4 under WIN 95 and haven't had too many toubles running it in Windows. It took some tweaking to get the memory allocation just right but it runs fine now. WIN95 allows you to run 3DS in its own dedicated DOS area just like you would if you were running it under normal DOS without WIN 3.11. I've been able to run it in the background while running COREL DRAW 5 and COREL PhotoPaint Plus to generate vector and raster images for 3DS textures and objects. Of course I have a lot of memory to handle the tasking (64MB). You know what they should do is recompile the pharlap DOS extender to run in NT mode and then you could really do some serious 3DS/WINDOWS multitasking with very few hang-ups! Or better yet, an NT/WIN95 version of 3DS that runs on Intel, MIPS & Alpha and written utilizing that HOOPS 3D technology Autodesk bought. But I guess I'm getting ahead of myself
