We've been using a Sony SDT-5000 4mm DAT tape drive. Works great, holds 4GB so
you can back up without changing tapes. Cost about $900 and should work with
your existing SCSI system. Ours is internal, but it comes in an external
version. HP also has a 4mm DAT drive for about the same money. I would suggest
you look closely at the 4mm DDS-2 format drives since they offer enough
capacity to grow into. Well worth scratching up the extra $200. You can also
get DDS format drives that hold a max of 1GB uncompressed. You can usually get
them for $100-200 less than the DDS-2 drives. Let me know if you want more
