#JobTracker
JobTracker is a nifty tool which lets you automatically track time and charges
(hourly, daily, etc.) on consulting jobs you're doing, etc. You set up a
'project' and set its billing time period and 'periodic' rate (dollars per
hour, dollars per day, etc.) and JT keeps track of it all and updates a hard
drive record every five minutes. Even has an alarm built in and you can have
more than one project running at once, suspend one while you work on another,
etc. All in the spirit of Amiga-ness – multitasking, nice user-interface
layout, 'iconify' features, etc. And it works great. Been available for a
couple of months now and we've had great feedback from the first customers who
seem very happy with it. It's just the kind of thing you want when you're doing
a video project or someone's paying you to do phone support of a product, etc.
You can wake up the JT project and let it accurately keep track of actual time
expended. And it lets you print out a 'history' of billing periods for
invoicing your clients, etc. The hard-copy feature (as well as the 'history'
file being viewable within the program) is handy for those who need to
substantiate their billed charges with something more than just scribbled
notes. All in all, JT is something which should have come along sooner, given
the amount of pro-video work Amiga folks do, but it's here now. Available from
MegageM. EMail me if you want pricing (reasonable) and ordering information.
