John, I think they mean that although SGI has a major position for 3D work, the clear momentum for content creation will be in the PC area. As we all know the path that 3DS has forged is being followed by an ever increasing number of competitors. I think that the move of lightwave to the PC was more precipitated by the envy factor of the 3DS market share and the sheer market potential for the software on PC's. It doesn't take an IQ much larger than your waist size to see the TAM (Total Available Market) in the PC arena far surpasses all other platform potentials. I think SGI's move to acquire wavefront et al, was more a move to prevent market share erosion in their well placed niche. 3DS is now everyone's target for software vendors producing software in the same ilk. They see fertile ground and wish to harvest the potential. Many factors will prevail in their success or failure. But that's marketing 101 stuff…. Tom
