Hi Kim,
Is the coutour map you have a paper map, or a cad file? If its a cad file, we
do this sort of thing all the time. Do you have AutoCAD?
We usually digitize the coutour lines in AutoCAD and then use the "3DSurf"
program from Schreiber Instruments. 3DSurf will take the data from the AutoCAD
file (not directly, you have to use an included AutoCAD LISP routine to create
a data file based on the CAD file) and create a finished mesh directly in the
3D-Editor.
