Hi – Gayle Gross de Nunez "chiming in" – YES! There is an active and enthusiastic downtown Chicago 3DS user group, aka "the Loop Group". We meet the second Tuesday of each month (unless shifted because of national meetings like NAB), and feature a mixture of formal presentations, help sessions, "show and tell" by members, and a lot of fun and informal mixing and contact making. RE: 3DS training – you are in the right place! Guru-class Heinz Schuller teaches the 3DS courses at Morraine Valley Community College, an Autodesk-sponsored, and VERY well-equipped site for 3D Studio and Autocad training – and Loop Group host, Paul Lempke, teaches the 3D Studio course at Univ. of Illinois Circle campus, downtown.
