Jim, If I understand you, you do not log on to the internet, you log on to a computer connected to the internet, which you have in front of you already. From your amiga, once it's connected, you can rlogin (remote login) to another computer connected to the net if you have an account on that remote computer. Mosaic sends requests for stuff to server programs on particular machines. Those programs then send message with data (text, images,etc.) back. Acutally, I suppose logging in can be described similarly, except that you get much more flexibility to change things and run programs on the remote computer. Clay
