I had the same problem, or at least the same symptom. Try looking in your
AMiTCP:db/hosts file, and see if there is a line with an internet address
followed by the word localhost. Apparently, the internet address should be
127.0.0.1, although mine is 0.0.0.0. The thing I did (mucking around
semi-knowledgably) was to go into my startnet script and change the word
locahost to 127.0.0.1. I haven't yet tried changing it back to localhost and
changing the hosts file.
