#AmiTCP Woes
Steve (and other networking/communications experts):
Please help me get out of this mess.
I continue to be unable to install AmiTCP-4.0(demo).
Here is the "script" in detail:
I set up the installation for expert and pretend. I select DH0:TC as the "
install to" site. It is my sys HD. The AmiTCP file with installer is in DH0:.
The licensure notice comes up, I read it and it closes. I click "proceed".
"Do you want to update your Sana II device drivers?" appears. I click on yes,
even though I have none previously installed. PPP is not installed yet.
"Should this Sana II driver be installed in devs:networks?" There is no such
directory as yet, qas far as I know. I click on "proceed".
"Do you want to install A2060.device in devs:networks?" Proceed "Do you want to
install A2065.device " " " " " Proceed "Do you want to install
rhcslip.device " " " " " Proceed "Do you want to install rhslip.device
"""""""""""""""" Proceed.
Offer to install Napsaterm fonts and Napsa. I proceed, to default "fonts".
"Do you want to copy settings from old installation?" I clicked "yes" and let
these configuration settings be copied to the default areas even though I had
no prev. config settings of my own.
"default user ID"…I used 74357.2623@compuserve.com "login username"…I used
same as above. "user ID" I used the default 100 "primary group ID" I used the
default 100
"What is real name of user" I used Hank Duckman
"Give the home directory of the user". I used DH0:, my SYS directory.
"Enter the name of the command interpreter for the user" I used the default,
"shell".
"Are you sure you want to add this user?" My previously typed selections for
various names, IDs are listed in a summary form. I click on "proceed" and this
is where I get the error screen:
ERROR reading text include file.
DOS error type:unable to locate a file or
a drawer.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Hank
