You need something like a PPP or SLIP connection. AmiTCP has to hook up through a device, which typically would be ppp.device or slip.device or some such thing. There is a copy of PPP software for the amiga in this forum's libraries. However, your university needs to be running corresponding software so that you can make a PPP or SLIP connection. It would be a particular phone number, not one that you can log in on in the old-fashoined way. You'll have to ask them about it. By the way, the PPP distribution here in the forum includes directions for installing AmiTCP properly so it will use PPP. Good luck! Clay
