I think I see your confusion. A GIF can not be used as a mesh file. A GIF is a
RASTER image, merely dots on the screen. A MESH is a VECTOR file format. This
is a datablase which allows you to move endpoints of lines, etc.
I think you may be looking for a morphing program. This program would allow you
to take your RASTER image and stretch or squash it into a new picture. Or you
may just be looking for a good paint and animation package. Animator Pro or
(soon to be released) Animator Studio might suit your needs.
