Robert, I am simply not going to enumerate all the problems that I have experimented or that other people have experimented with the OS. Each person has their own setups and each person will have different difficulties to solve in the OS swap. It is krazy to want me to list all the problems I have experimented (because many of them are outdated and solved) or those I have read about over the NT forum. That's what I sent you there. You will have plenty of nightmares, as well as sweet dreams. It is the nature of the PC world. I will only use NT for 3DS exclusively. All the other applications that I want to use run native on my PowerMacs and I simply don't care about them on the PC (besides, the port to NT means to me a change to Alpha, an NONE of the applications I use under the PC now are Alpha native: So no Painter, Pagemaker, Quark, Illustrator or Photoshop there). Some of my peripherals, like the Polaroid SprintScan 35 or the Kodak ColorEase, simply won't run on NT. I personally never have had problems with NT at the drive subsystem level, only with the beta and a SCSI drive (solved with a new Adaptec adapter) I have had TONS of problems on the video side, and I still have to see a decent 24bit video driver for NT. Because all the stuff I use is standard, and many makeityourself clone types here will call it too expensive, I can say that NT is a smooth kittie. I only have runned NT on Compaqs and lately on the XLs. Both brands have strong support built in the OS. But you have to keep in mind that there are so many combinations out there that is impossible even for the mighty MS to keep track of them. Again, I never have said that NT is worthless or anything like that! You and John seem to think that I have said that and inmediatly have made nonsense links with previous post about my thoughts about PowerMacs. This is a stupid point to make and you know it. People should be aware that there could be problems in the switching and that life with NT is not the fairy tale that John has told us to be. If you don't trust me, wait until 3DSr5 gets released and you will tell me the amount of traffic that is going to generate then. ana /krazy images
