Also, Bob, the latest issue of Digital Video magazine (that just came) has a review of 7 CD-R Pre-Mastering packages, with a list of all the drives they support. The list of supported drives is as follows: Yamaha CDR100 Phillips CDD521 & Kodak PCD200 Phillips CDD522 & Kodak PCD225 Sony CDW900E Sony CDU9205 (a new low-cost double speed recorder only supported by one package currently, but most will no doubt add it) Plasmon RF4100 Kodak PCD600 JVC XRW100 JVC XRW200 Ricoh R56200 I'll be interested in any conclusions you come to, as I'm figuring on getting us one within a 6-12 month time frame, for use mainly as an archiving method.
