One possible cause of that (window snaps back when you release the button on
a resize or move) is lack of memory. If Intuition decides it doesn't have
enough memory to do the move, it skips it. Try running it with less other
processes running, or less in RAM:, or whatever it takes to give it more
working area. Just a guess… – Bela
