The routine in your program TxED which displays directories is bar ooops by
FAR the *BEST* directory requestor I have seen on ANY piece of Amiga software
yet, and I think I have just about seen them all. It would behoove ALL amiga
developers to take a look at what happens when using TxED when clicking on
the 'open' option. The directory requester pops up, names immediately start
scrolling into it, the slider bar is already active, you can click on a name
WHILE others are scrolling in, you can change dir paths WHILE all this is
going on. I mean it is 100% immediate, interactive, and BEAUTIFULLY done!!
Compare this, for instance, to the directory requestors in the beta Musicraft
(abyssmal!!) or even Deluxe Paint, or to the absolutely HORRID version in
Online, Analyze, and Scribble ! (no slider bars whatsoever! what was going
thru the programmer's mind when he pulled that one off??)
Charlie, you are to be congratulated on writing a routine that is
simultaneously Elegant, Functional, and EXTREMELY user-friendly. ALL other
developers should look to this as the one to emulate!
