Sony 3.5" Drives

Two hardware questions:
I saw a California Digital ad in Byte for Sony 3.5 in. drives for $139. Has
anyone connected one of these to the Amiga?
If I were interested in 640×400 color and NOT in animation what monitor would
do the best job?
