The problems you are describing are not the same as the one I occasionally
see and was asking about.
I tried driving SS from the DMCS clock as you suggested, but I always found
that to be a bit limiting. Instead, I usually let SoundScape "free run" just
as if I were playing live on a MIDI keyboard, then flip to the DMCS screen
and start the playback. Of course this way you don't have any sort of
relationship between the SoundScape clock ticks and the notes being recorded
as you would if you were playing to the metronome or if you were driving it
from the DMCS clock, but as long as the record clock rate is high enough this
is not a problem. I also usually have to go in and edit out the several
second pause at the start of the sequence, but again this is no problem.
Anyway, if you try it this way you'll find that your retards/accelerandos
record just fine.
The problem I've seen occasionally is that I'll have a batch of MIDI tracks
and one or two Ami sound tracks; when I port it over to SoundScape the Ami
tracks don't get recorded.
