Having sold the Thompson, I'd have to disagree – it gives a better picture than the 1080. God knows what model it was. But it was $300. The Gold Star monitors are in the Atari monitor shell, now, and with some tweaking, can give a significantly better picture than a 1080 also. (That's about $350 to $400). The Maganavox monitor that you mention, is actually a 1091, which I believe you said was 1080 with a different shell? Magnavox made the 1091 (The C128 monitor). Dunno about Samsung. You're probably wrong there too though. 🙂 (just kidding)
