FMR does not do takeovers, and in order to do a takeover, that assumes someone is interested in doing a takeover. Neither Apple nor COMPAQ have been taken over, nor were they taken over when they were much smaller and much more vulnerable. I dont think that the PC industry, with whats going on, is very fertile ground right now. Too much is up in the air to INSURE that a takeover, with all its costs, would work out. Regarding Lynch, he is only ONE fund manager (a highly visible one), and there is no way to know how much of Commodore's stock he is holding, that info should be made public by early June tho. I dont suspect that Lynch is responisble for all of the buying, although he may hold some stock. Regarding Irving Gould, I have alot of respect for him, and I think he's taken somewhat of an unjustified bashing. In the past year, Commodore has successfully dealt with a number of tough problems, and although a number more still remain, Commodore has come a long way. Turning a company around is not an instant process, it takes time, money, and persistence. Lets see what happens in the next year or so; I think we all will be pleased.
