Where the hell did I say that? And who said I wasn't interested in a DXF module? I've written one, and demo'd it at several shows, long ago. So far, my company has not decided to release it. Wanna know why? I'll give you some simple reasons. First, what's the size of your typical DXF file, from a real-world drawing. 500K? 1 meg? 2 meg? How do my potential users get that file to their Amiga? ARC? 5 1/4 floppies? Non-existent network products? Serial ports? Once the file's on the Amiga, you're going to need enough memory to convert the file. How fine would you like to approximate curves, with triangles? Sculpt wants 124 bytes of memory for each triangle you make. You'll quickly exceed the memory of most machines with any typical DXF drawing – unless you're going through lots of extra work to adjust the drawing before you bring it to the Amiga. With the limited interest I'd seen so far, it isn't worth it for me to finish the product. Too many users wanted it priced at $50, when we'd need to charge more to cover our costs, versus the number we'd sell. If DXF makes you wet, then go buy the DXf translator from Access Technologies. Far be it from me to ever suggest a competitor's product. Are you trying to make friends with me? So far, you haven't been the nicest person I've met here.
