Ethan, Only one small correction. The CMI accelerator CAN be slowed to 7.14 MHz. There is a software program supplied that will do this or you can permanently set it to either speed via jumpers on the board. Also, Ron, if you're reading this, there is a socket for a 68881 on the CMI board and it uses a 68000. My main problem with the CMI board was that my machine fully outfitted didn't seem to get along well with it. With the std. 1 Mb RAM it ran fine for days. With the A2052 installed, it sould run for about 1/2 hour then get progressively weirder until it wouldn't even ask for the boot disk on startup. I tried a different A2052 and had the same problem. I tried the CMI board in my dealers machine (boy were they understanding) which had an A2052 and it worked fine. AAAAHHHHH !!! I finally gave up in frustration. It's barely possible that I've got an intermittant problem in my machine or an unusually noisy bus when loaded, but *I* could never figure it out. Incidentally, CMI said they tested it with the A2052 and really and truly tried real hard to get it to work with mine. This is my contribution to the discussion. Hmmmmm… actually I guess I should have sent this last to Ron. Excure me Ethan. Ron, I hope you're following the thread… Kevin
