Gerry is correct, it appears to be both industry (and thank god that on this one they follow it) and CBM's approach. Indeed, while the silicon is still "hot off the presses" there is a good deal of testing that goes on. One rumor has been that Mostek, CBM's upriver subsidiary that designs and mfrs the chips (such as Gary, Agnus, Denise and Paula) has been having poorer than standard returns on their silicon. This testing is an absolute necessity if that's truly the case. –Gabe
