VME is the bus used in various Sun workstations and was originally developed by
Motorola for all 680×0-based systems. It started out as the "VersaBus". Later
on, it acquired the name VME (I can't remember what it stands for) and has
evolved into a more involved bus called VXI (VME eXtended for Instrumentation).
