This is a problem I have been dealing with for a while. I have wanted to hoo up a third party, IBM compatible 3.5" drive to my bridgeboard to run as a b drive. I tried doing what you are trying to do now, and failed. I tried using a plug in floppy drive controller card and failed. In talking with people on the boards, it seems that the only way to have a dual drive bridgeboard (non hard disk) is to use the Commodore 1010 drive in the BB external port. It must be the 1010 because third party drives do not have the ciruitry to be both amiga and ibm compatible. There are some jumpers on the bridgeboard that are connected to the disk controller, but I have not been able to find out what they are used for. I have been wondering if their (sic) is some way to unhook the external port from the fd controller and use the normal IBM setup of reversing polarity for the b drive. I really haven't helped with this, but I wanted you to know what you are getting into.
