I may be abrasive, and seem especially so to you, but there aren't many people who know me who would back up that ignorant assertion. Borland makes products for the PC… so the standards and environmentel er, "tal", constraints they have to work under are completely different, not to say prehistoric. A programs _effect_ is a totally different issue than the professionalism of it's coding, something you either have not thought thru or misunderstood when I made that statement. In line assembly is the mark of the amatuer. It *is* that, no matter what the cries of "but I'm a professional" seem to indicate. It's NOT how such things are done. ILAC is a travesty of opposition to the modular coding concept, something we embrace completely. I am of the _opinion_ that those who do NOT embrace modular programming are not "pprofessional", which is one of those sneaky words that can get away from you if you're not careful. As for Borland in general… there's a perfect example of a market driven company – not a _quality_ driven company. Witness the fact that they don't produce for what we all know to be a better, higher _quality_ platform, the Amiga… they produce for the PC. Not that I object, in fact I encourage that. The same for the _Exact_ same action by an individual. You can for instance give your body to a qaulity individual for subtle rewards as well as security and quality down the road, that is, later in life, or, you can sell it on the street and have instant return because there are FAR more comsumers available at that location, and they will pay better. I see Borland as living on the street corner, in a very short skirt. Again – I have no problem with that – but I *do* see it for what it is. I have no problem with it in people, either, while we're beating on this issue (no pun intended) but the same attitude applies – I wouldn't be a _customer_. So, if borland has nice legs and a pretty face, that's good. It'll get them the business. :^) But it's a pretty good indication that sales are the goal, not quality.
