Betty, Thanks. I can't believe that Superbase is not well known in the MS DOS world. It is available on that system and seems like a fine product. In many respects it is much more refined than DBase or its clones. I have no idea of its speed, though and that's an important consideration in data base work (as in everything else on a computer). I'm writing an accounts recievable module. I'll post it when I get it done. It would be nice to se some other examples of code. Rich
