Brendan, While I agree that the Dual Standard is a good choice as far as being able to connect with v.32 modems as well. I do have to caution that the modem has been plagued with compatibility problems in that mode. The rumor is that USRobotics is going to expand that modem to include v.42 as well as v.32, I'd wait for that generation to surface and see how well they work compatibility wise. As for price, the Dual Standard weighs in well over $1000US, almost twice that of a 14.4kbps version. It's definately the way to go for international use, but for domestic use, the 14.4kbps is more than sufficient, it is also much faster than a v.32, although it is not full duplex. -jack-
