SyQuest Installation ??
I'm an Amiga novice trying to install a SyQuest 88MB internally in a stock
A-2000. Have two questions, and would appreciate any replies. I have a
GVP '030 board (50MHZ) and a piggyback Quantum 120HD (hooked up to the GVP
SCSI controller) already inside and running. The vendor that sold me the
SyQ88 sent me a SCSI cable with a connector on each end and one in the
middle and some instructions that talk about jumpers/ID's and terminating
resistors.
If the Q120 is my only other SCSI device, and I don't know what ID number
it has, what ID number should I set the SyQ88 to? 1 or 2? (My WB2.0
screen shows Ram Disk, DH0(6MB), DH1(110MB), and the 3.5 floppy.)
Is it safe to assume that since the Amiga is running fine with the
GVP/Q120, that the Q120 already has a terminating resistor in place? If
so, and if I put the SyQ88 between the GVP SCSI controller and the Q120,
then the SyQ88 is not the last in line and I should remove the terminating
resistor on the SyQuest drive?
Rest of it I should be able to figure from the documentation. Many thanks!
