You might not tolerate ads near columns that discuss the product but
Byte D O E S ! I even like reading Byte, although Jerry is a really
transparent sonofa&^%$#. I have had a sub since 1984 and have noticed this
happening with regularity over the years. The Pioneer CD-ROM changer is a
perfect example that I have noticed myself. I have not noticed it
happening in AW although it might have escaped my notice AND been
accidental.
I don't think you can speak for publications you don't work with. I
don't think we are all ready to condemn all mags as "payola pits" but
sometimes it is too obvious and happens too often to ignore. Money talks
(to many people out there).
