#Pertec computer?
A relative of mine asked me about a computer they use at their business.
I'm a collector of "antique" computers, but this system didn't ring many
bells. It's a Pertec 3000, running an inventory and invoicing system
written in Basic-3. It's a box about 2 x 2 x 3, circa 1982 or so, with a
single 8 inch floppy and a hard disk, connecting three glass TTYs. I
haven't seen it in person. I'm guessing it's some multi-user CP/M. Does
anyone have any idea what this might be?
They've used this system for about eight years in a dusty and grimy farm
implement store. They've never backed it up. Now that it's flaking out
now and then, they're worried about losing a month's worth of invoices, and
an inventory of 8,000 parts.
