Pat,
Are you aware of anyone who has used SBPro4 to develop an appointment
scheduler module as part of an integrated application? The program
documentation doesn't really address issues regarding how to optimize the
relational aspects of the program.
What I have in mind is to locate a patient from a "tombstone" type
database, verify that the selection is correct, then proceed through a
series of options like:
appointment with a specific provider
next available appointment with a provider (either specific provider
or first available)
then "inject the patient information into the appointment database.
The problems revolve around how to go about setting up the database files
for optimum retrieval. I've set up several aspects of the other parts of
the db program, but am stumped at how to design this component of the
integrated program.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, or references to folks you may be aware of
who've tried to tackle similar problems.
