Yeah, designed as "low priced", how come it costs the same as an Amiga500 plus ??? I think Commodore designed it as a "higher profit margin" machine, maybe expecting slower sales, I dunno… What's more, it looks a lot less professional too. A Commodore rep once told me that Commodore had the smallest profit margin per machine of any manufacturer. I don't blame them for trying to make money, but I think that this isn't the way to do it.
