I was very interested when you mentioned that I could get stock market historical data via Valueline. But I quickly lost interest and here is why. I got the 800 number for Valueline, and then they directed me to the institutional 800 number who directed me to the computer 800 number. That was fine because that last person explained that: a) the data actually is available from Lotus (the computer software company), b) these CD-ROMs are formatted to be read by software that is also available from Lotus (probably expensive), and c) these CD-ROMs are apparently VERY expensive and are available as a subscription service for at least thousands and perhaps more than $10,000 per year. I think that this is correct. But if anyone can point me to a source for a CD-ROM that contains historical data for NYSE stock and option trades, I would be interested in a reasonably priced disk ( less than $100 ).
