There is a solution for VCR-Backups. A German enterprise:

They selling "Video-Backup" Rel 2.11 for DM 198.– (about $100).
I don't know if the software is in english, too. (Personally I never saw
such a solution in use and know nobody using it, but it's worth a try (if
it works with NTSC machines…)
