Betty, Yes, that's the issue that scares me most about going surface-mount on the A600 (otherwise, it's a great idea!): Those 8520's. Since CBM uses them as fuses that go when you pick a little too much static at your computer desk, simple replacement is imperitave. But maybe CBM has added some protection diodes surrounding the chips or something. Let's hope so; replacing a motherboard for an 8520 failure in an out-of-warranty machine would cause a few complaints, I'd think. Thanks for the report! Karl – via Whap!
