Denny,
SoftWood maintains a strong belief in the Amiga computer. I believe
the decision to remove support of Word Perfect files was a statement.
Word Perfect Corp. decided to drop Amiga support. Support for Amiga users
of Word Perfect has now been relegated to the Macintosh support line where
a Macintosh expert must use a book to answer the Amiga user's questions.
The decision was made before my employment with SoftWood began. I
don't know the full story or arguments behind the decision. I _can_ tell
you that I am completely in favor of the decision.
Incidentally, any users that need to be able to convert Word Perfect
files to another word processor's format (hopefully, Final Copy II), can
hang onto their Proper Grammar. If you need to convert lots of other word
processor formats, you should get Proper Grammar II. If you _don't_ need
Word Perfect format support, you can dump your Proper Grammar in favor of
Proper Grammar II (everything from the original is in there, plus a lot of
new file formats and grammar rules).
Hope this helps.
