I was using Win3.1 on a 386-25 w/ 2 DOS 'Shells' open, on a
1024x768x256 color screen, and it was beginning to show signs of a
slow-down. The AMAZING thing is that I was actually able to
multi-task well using Windows.
I am very surprised with the performance of Win3.1, and combined with
the dirt cheap prices of IBM PC clones, it begins to look like a very
viable platform – which may even give the Mac a run for its' money.
Speaking of macs, I notice that it is still impossible to format a
disk and launch another application while formatting – something even
an A500 can do.
