If I remember correctly, AppleTalk itself operates at 230.4k baud (I
think that's the number). Are you saying that the printer itself is
limited to 57k baud, despite Appletalk's higher potential speed? (Not
that 57k is slow for serial communication, as you indicate.) In any
case, I think the biggest bottleneck in most Postscript printers (at
least once you get beyond the slower 19.2 and 9600 baud rates) is
probably the speed of the printer's own internal processor. ===Scott
