From the flyer, my impression is that the only output is component analog, in other words, Betacam/MII. No S-Video, meaning no S-VHS or Hi-8. Though if you pair it with DPS's Personal TBC IV you can use it to capture and record video in real time and The Personal TBC IV has S-Video in and out as well as optional optional component analog output. It might be that if you have both boards you could transcode the component analog to S-Video and output it to a S-VHS or Hi-8 recorder. (Dragging out Impluse's Newletter – do these guys have a spelling checker?) The Dream Machine will output in Composite, S-Video, RGB in NTSC, PAL and SECAM – and digitize as well. I guess we'll just have to wait to see who is the first out of the gate with this stuff. My local dealer said that it would be at least a few months for the DPS board – in computer development terms that usually means don't hold your breath.
