As far as audio cds go, the data format is arranged into a Lead=In area containing a TOC which lists the starting track number, the ending track number, and the lead-out time in minutes, secs and frames, and a list of tracks, with a pointer to the starting absoute time in min, sec, frame of each track. In the program area, the audio data is arranged into frames of 2352 bytes, and control bytes. The CDROM drive can usuall return the Q channel of the control bytes, or part of it,
