Well, if you can index a full CD-ROM (and it's possible up to the limits of the
size of the index and text combined fitting on one disc) I don't think 500K
would present any problem. One disc I'm familiar with, Panatech's BidDisc
(Commerce Business Daily on CD — a year's worth at a time with weekly updates)
uses FOLIO VIP with full-text index. The entire DB is indexed, and it is
really fast.
