ACAD for Kids
Milt, I received your message that you called on Monday; sorry that I was not
available to receive your call.
So far for my CAD for Kids sessions I submitted a broad outline that needs to
fleshed out:
Day 1 Intro to Computer-aided Drafting/Design
Intro to CAD Hardware/Software
Day 2 Intro to AutoCAD Main Menu
AutoCAD commands:
– Creating entities (LINE, CIRCLE, ARC, POLYGON, etc.)
– Manipulation (COPY, MOVE, etc.)
Day 3 AutoCAD Commands – Cont'd
– Editing
– Dimensioning
Day 4 Orthographic Projections
– One & two view drawings
Day 5 Orthographic Projections – Cont'd
– Three view drawings
Day 6 Intro to Plotting
Project Assignment – (Ex.,Bird House)
Day 7 Project Assignment – Cont'd
Day 8 Project Assignment – Cont'd
Day 9 Tour of Machine Shop facilities
Demo of CAM
Day 10 Tour of local Manufacturing Company
As you can see I need to expand this with videos, demonstrations, projects,
etc. The above IS NOT cast in concrete. I am open to suggestions.
I plan to utilize Terry Wohlers' APPLYING AutoCAD R10 text since that is the
Release installed and the texts are readily available.
Randy mentioned in his 28-Apr-93 reply that various videos are available. Is
there a list? How can I borrow these for my classes?
Also, Randy said that a "Pedagogical Guide Binder" is available. How can get a
copy of this? What other teacher aids are available?
Do you have any suggestions for projects that would be appropriate for kids?
Thanks for your help.
Bob.
